What We Know About the Perry Mason Reboot

We have fond memories of watching Perry Mason reruns during summer breaks when we were younger, so imagine how excited we were to hear that a reboot of this iconic series is in the works!

Here’s what we know so far about the Perry Mason reboot:

  • The reboot was originally set to play on HBO with Robert Downey Jr. (Sherlock Holmes movie) starring as the iconic defense attorney.
  • The series is being produced by Downey Jr. and his wife, Susan Downey.
  • Due to filming commitments, Downey Jr. has stepped away from the role and the producers are currently casting a new Perry Mason.
  • Matthew Rhys (Death Comes to Pemberley) is rumored to be considered for the title Perry Mason role.
  • True Detective creator Nic Pizzolatto was originally slated to write the series, but he too has since stepped away due to other commitments.

We wish we had more to report, but we’re hopeful that this series will get off the ground soon. Stay tuned for more details!
