Before They Were Famous: Emily Blunt

I love Emily Blunt because she can transform herself from posh girl (The Devil Wears Prada) to Queen Victoria (The Young Victoria) to badass federal agent (Sicario) and back to horror movie scream queen (her recent movie The Quiet Place opposite her real life husband John Krasinski). But did you know that Emily’s humble beginnings were in British mysteries?

She first starred in Foyle’s War, Season 2, Episode 3 called War Games. Emily plays Lucy Markham, the concerned wife of DCS Foyle’s chief suspect.

Emily followed up with a prominent role in Agatha Christie’s Poirot Death on the Nile, Season 9, Episode 3, as the ill-fated heiress Linnet Ridgeway, whose murder Hercule Poirot solves.

Following her breakout indie role in My Summer of Love, Emily starred in the TV movie The Strange Case of Sherlock Holmes & Arthur Conan Doyle opposite Douglas Henshall (Shetland). While not a mystery, we still love that the show has a mystery connection.

From there, the rest is history. What is your favorite show or movie starring Emily Blunt?
We can’t to see her in the new Mary Poppins!
