The Mysteries of Laura stars Debra Messing as the sassy and likable Laura Diamond, an NYPD homicide detective who solves crime while juggling her high-maintenance personal life. Her ex-husband, played by Josh Lucas, also happens to be her boss, adding another layer to the plot. Lasting only two seasons, the show featured a number of great guest stars including Enrico Colantoni (Veronica Mars), Jenna Fisher, and Stockard Channing. Its lightheartedness makes for great background noise.
