Moody and dark, DCI Banks epitomizes the gray Yorkshire backdrop in which the show is set. Stephen Tompkinson stars as the bulldog DCI Banks who is tasked with solving gruesome, labyrinthine crimes. He is joined by DS Annie Cabbot, a young and aggressive partner whose confrontational personality creates an explosive chemistry between her and her superior. Caroline Catz of Doc Martin and Murder in Suburbia also stars as the by-the-book DI Helen Morton.
